Hands on Healing Professionals was founded by Stephanie Metzger.

Stephanie Metzger is a licensed massage therapist in North Carolina who is dedicated to the healing arts and manual therapies. She has a thorough understanding of sports related injuries, areas where chronic pain reside, and the need for both physical and emotional stress release.  After graduating from Clemson University with a degree in Marketing and Tourism Management, she worked in sales for a short period before her desire to help people and her interest in health and body care lead her to a career in massage therapy. She attended The Center of Massage and Natural Health in Asheville NC. Incorporating knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics in therapeutic/deep tissue massages, Stephanie is able to help with releasing muscle tension.  Her Swedish massage uses longer flowing strokes that assists in releasing stress and acquiring deep relaxation. With strong, caring hands her goal is to individually customize your service through a detailed evaluation of your personal needs.

Stephanie’s massage style combines knowledge of proper body function with many different modalities to help alleviate painful symptoms and correct problems. She not only listens carefully to the circumstances surrounding problem areas, but also looks and feels to understand what is going on with the individual.  By paying attention to posture and movement to ascertain a proper treatment, Stephanie evaluates imbalance in soft tissue and is able to provide a massage geared to your needs.  Once a proper evaluation has taken place, she incorporates a variety of techniques to support individual’s different responses.  She is a master of many tools, using active and passive stretching, Thai, Esalen, Trigger Point, Reiki, Hot Stone and many other modalities to create the most beneficial, therapeutic and relaxing massage possible.

Determined and hardworking, Stephanie pursues her interests passionately and works at keeping a healthy balance between work, family, friends, community, and personal time.  Her hobbies include kayaking, biking, yoga, skiing, hiking, gardening, and reading. Being active and friendly, she enjoys social interactions and is interested in supporting community activities.  Stephanie's community involvement includes fundraising event for Walk for the Cure of breast cancer. Discounts for commuters linked with Asheville on Bikes, and Jerry's Battle, a fundraiser for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).  Keep posted for upcoming events in which Hands on Healing Professionals will be participating.
